Member Success - A full year of ChalkDust
When we received this email from Ryan, we couldn’t stop smiling while reading it, because we have seen his progress. His gained confidence in his lifts, trusting his ability to push in workouts and becoming a leader and motivator to others. He is one of the fastest runners and burpee-er in the gym. His numbers are going up and it has a lot to do with his consistency but also that when he’s in class he does the work. We are proud of the results he has gotten in a years time and even more happy that he also sees it. Sometimes it’s hard to see how far you have come day after day, but taking the time to reflect like this is awesome. Thank you so much for sharing this with us and allowing us to share this with the community. Keep it up Ryan!
Read Ryan’s thoughts on what a year at ChalkDust was like for him below!
“Hey Team, I’ve found that tomorrow is my 1 year anniversary with you all. I remember the workout pretty well. It was a 30 minute EMOM with Coach Beth leading it and it involved rowing and db thrusters and some box pushups. I did not perform well AND was sore for what felt like a week. Still though, I signed up for my foundations the same day as my intro class. Something just felt right about the team and the members. I went through my foundations with coaches Timmy, Katie, and Robert and started as a regular member at the beginning of October last year.
Why I contacted ChalkDust
I reached out initially because running by myself and doing accessory strength work (also solo) wasn’t working for me. I wanted to build more strength and I wanted a community and that’s what I’ve found. I’ve gotten meaningful advice and interactions from every coach in the gym and all of the other members I get to see daily. Spending time with you all is always a highlight of my day.
What kind of results I’ve received
Throughout the last year, the amount of progress that I’ve seen probably can’t be communicated sufficiently through email. I have pictures of some of my white boards and weights though from this time last year and seeing where I am now is incredible. I’m proud of the work I’ve put in and recognize that I still have a lot of room to grow. I also know with the help of each of the coaches, this same sentiment will be true in year 2 as well.
I’m a fairly competitive person, but one thing I’ve really worked on is competing with myself first. With all of your help I’m just a night and day stronger and better athlete today than I was at this time last year. Thank you for that and for making me feel like a part of the family. That goes for the entire coaching staff and all of the members as well.
It really is a one of a kind community that I’m grateful to be a part of.
I’m looking forward to many more years, but thank you for this first one. It’s been incredibly memorable!”
