What is The ChalkDust Way?
By now, you have probably come across something that we’ve posted with #thechalkdustway. The ChalkDust Way to us, began as a business model and has morphed into a culture that makes people feel welcome. We wanted to be a place where you could come to relive stress, take a break from your busy schedules and put focus on you and your personal health. It's amazing to hear from our members that the WOD is their favorite time of day.
The ChalkDust team had a clear vision of the type of atmosphere we wanted for our community when we opened our doors in October. We want everyone that walks in to feel confident and supported by not only us, but by their peers as well. We believe when you treat someone with an encouraging and positive attitude, it becomes contagious and those same positive and encouraging people start to seek you out. And that’s just what happened. All of us at ChalkDust are so grateful for the people we have met so far. Our atmosphere is full of smiling faces ready to dish out motivation to anyone who needs it and we thoroughly enjoy spending each day with all of you.
The ChalkDust Way and How We Live It
We want you to feel confident when you leave ChalkDust. It can be overwhelming to walk into a CrossFit gym for the first time, so it’s important to us that we help you overcome any discomfort. By the time you leave, we want you to have a different perspective than when you walked in. We are here to empower you, by helping you realize your strength and abilities. Our coaches are some of the best, both in their teaching and in just being awesome people.
We try our best to motivate you when you’re just not feeling it that day, or feeling discouraged. Some of our favorite moments are watching a class surround someone struggling and seeing them feed off of their energy to push through the WOD. That is why we do what we do. We don’t tolerate someone making you feel less than or incapable of reaching your goals and we are positive that you will never have that experience at ChalkDust CrossFit.
We want your voice to be heard. There’s a reason companies have comment cards. No one is perfect and collaborating ideas from multiple views can result in some pretty great changes. We are always open to hearing constructive criticism, so feel free to discuss any of your concerns with any of us. If you don’t have any and want to just tell us how great we are . . well, that works, too!
We encompass all forms of fitness. Our goal through our training and programming is to embrace and utilize all forms of fitness to achieve our overall goal of being CrossFit. We have members who toggle between different areas of fitness, such as CrossFit classes and Yoga classes. The same goes for our long distance runners and Olympic Lifters. We pride ourselves in using all of these aspects of fitness within our programming and playing up everyone’s strengths.
Basically, we are here to help you. Whether it’s building muscle or building confidence, we are your outlet. Each one of us has a different talent to bring to the table and we feel your needs are covered when you step into ChalkDust. So if you bring a water bottle, a willingness to work hard and an open mind, we will help you meet your fitness goals. We are excited to meet those of you in the Powell Community whom we have not already and we hope to have you as an addition to the ChalkDust family.
